Daily Buses

To get to the UAI Viña del Mar Campus from the city center, the workshop will have shuttle buses for participants. The pickup points will be:

• Corner of 6 Poniente & 4 Norte (B)
• Hotel Pullman San Martín (C)

Morning shuttle schedule (to UAI Viña del Mar campus)

All morning buses go from Viña del Mar to Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI), Viña del Mar campus. There will be two routes; one starting at Hotel Marina Del Rey with two additional stops, and one starting at Hotel Pullman with no additional stop.

All afternoon buses return from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI), Viña del Mar campus, to Viña del Mar.

Getting to Viña del Mar from the SCL Airport

Bus to Viña del Mar

Since the airport is outside the city, traveling to Viña del Mar by bus involves two legs: one bus from Santiago International Airport (SCL) to Santiago, and another from Santiago to Viña del Mar.

i. From SCL Airport to Santiago

Inside the terminal, follow the signs to the airport bus stops. Two main companies operate between the airport and Santiago: Centropuerto and TurBus. Buses usually run every 15–25 minutes, depending on the day and time.

You can get off at either Metro Pajaritos or Metro Universidad de Santiago stations. The fare is typically between 2,000 and 3,000 CLP (approximately 2–3 USD), and the trip usually takes 20–30 minutes. The Pajaritos option is a bit quicker, since it avoids going into and out of the Santiago City Center.

ii. From Santiago to Viña del Mar

From both metro stations, there are frequent intercity buses to Viña del Mar.

• From Metro Pajaritos, the intercity bus terminal is located inside or next to the metro station.
• From Metro Universidad de Santiago, we recommend going directly to the TurBus terminal.

Fares usually range from 4,000 to 10,000 CLP (approximately 4–10 USD), and the journey takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Taxi / Transfer

The fastest way to reach Viña del Mar is by taxi or transfer. We strongly recommend using official services that can be booked directly through their websites. The organizers have had good experiences with Transvip (https://new.transvip.cl/). Another good option is WeTransport (https://wetransport.cl/).

Prices typically range from 80,000 to 130,000 CLP (about 80–130 USD) per vehicle (not per person), and the usual travel time is around 90 minutes, depending on traffic.

There are other official companies inside the airport that offer similar services. Please do not accept rides from unofficial taxis or drivers offering services outside the terminal. Official airport taxis (“Taxi Oficial”) and registered transfer companies are clearly identified inside the arrivals area, right after the baggage claim.

Note for Arrivals on December 7

The main road between Santiago and Viña may be temporarily closed on the 7th due to a religious festivity. There is no official information yet, but normally it is closed from the afternoon of the 7th until early morning of the 8th.

Alternative routes are available, but you can expect extra travel time on the 7th.

We recommend booking accommodations within the green area shown on the map above. This neighborhood offers a wide range of lodging options and is within walking distance of restaurants, the beach, and the departure point for the daily workshop shuttle.
