Conference venue

The workshop and summer school will be held at Room 121 of Don and Cathy Jacobs Science Building (University of Kentucky, 680 Rose St, Lexington, KY USA 40506). The building can be found on Google maps as well as on the interactive campus map.

The poster session and reception will take place on the ground floor of the Don and Cathy Jacobs Science Building, in the Atrium area and the adjacent rooms.

Lodging

We recommend the on-campus suites at Woodland Glen V. It is only a 10-15 minute walk from the Don and Cathy Jacobs Science Building. The suites come with two separate bedrooms, a private bathroom, a double vanity, and a mini fridge/microwave combo in the common area with a high-top table and chairs. This option is limited and only available until May 13, 2024. The final price (based on availability, whether a room is shared, and date) will be shown at the checkout page of booking system. We encourage attendees who want to make use of this option to book early.

An alternative to the on-campus suites is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lexington-Downtown/University hotel. The local organization has secured a small block with preferential rates ($131 per night excl. taxes) for MIP attendees on June 3-6, 2024. Attendees who want to make use of this limited option (available until May 1, 2024), please mention the group name UK MIP 2024 and use group code MIP. Getting to the venue

Airport information

The closest airports to the venue are

with Lexington Blue Grass Airport being the closest among those airports. A Uber ride from the Lexington Blue Grass Airport to the University of Kentucky typically costs $25-$50.

Louisville International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport are about 1.5 hours away (approx. 80 miles) by car. There are no public transportation or shuttle options to get to Lexington.

Local transportation

In-Town
The local public bus carrier is Lextran and a ride costs $1. Further options to get around town are Uber or Lyft. Rides within 2 miles typically cost $8-$15, but prices vary for instance during peak hours (early mornings and evenings).

On Campus
The University of Kentucky offers free Campus shuttles to UK students, employees and visitors. Bus stops are conveniently located on campus and can be reached in less than 5 minutes from all areas; the bus stops are served every 7-10 minutes. Please note that campus shuttles run only during weekdays. The shuttle buses can be tracked in real time here, and transportation-related smartphone apps can be found here. Parking
