University of Southern California
The workshop will be held in 301 Taper Hall (THH). Food and beverages will be available just outside the building during the breaks. The poster session will be held in the first floor of Michelson Center (MCB)
The USC hotel is the closest option to where the workshop will be held. The local organization has secured a block with preferential rates for MIP attendees.
The USC dorms are a lower-cost option available for booking. These are shared bedrooms for 2 people each. Please use the registration form above to book them.
The best way to travel from-to the LAX airport is using Uber/Lyft/Taxi. Note that unlike most airports, it is not possible to simply walk out and order an cab. Instead, it is necessary to go to a separate terminal. To do so, there are free shuttles availables: walk outside, and follow the "LAX-it" signs, which are clearly visible. More information here.
The recommended option for lunch is to go to USC Village. Several dining options are available there, such as:
Inside campus, the Ronald Tutor Campus Center has a food court including Panda Express, Burger Crush and Verde. Next to it, Seeds Marketplace offers salads and sandwiches as well as some to-go options. Finally, Moreton Fig is a more substantial (and expensive) alternative.
Two pubs are located close to campus: The Lab Gastropub (closed on Mondays) and Rock and Reilly's.
The conference dinner will be held at the USC University Club.
Los Angeles downtown's area is located farther away (20-30 minutes away using the metro line, or 10-15 minutes and $10 in Uber) but has a plethora of food and drinks options.
